Is Solar Physics of benefit?

I constantly admire how the natural world inspires modern technology. For example, investigating the properties of the solar atmosphere and its heating might present huge practical applications in the tokamak’s technology. To begin with, by observing the Sun, we find that the plasma is slightly ionized in the chromosphere until its temperature increases drastically in the transition region. Then, understanding how this happens might solve one of the highly challenging engineering problems presented by tokamaks. If possible, scientists and engineers can use this phenomenon to protect the divertor plates from the power generated by the plasma, while sustaining nuclear fusion.
